Katelyn Brown
KEDM InternKatelyn Brown, is a jack of all trades with her broad interest in creative arts. Growing up,
she sang in many choirs, played cello for Ouachita Parish High School and the Monroe
Youth Symphony Orchestra– even winning Nationals for AG Youth Ministries in
instrumental ensemble at The Assembly WM.
She is a communication student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Pursuing a
concentration in integrated media. She has an interest in video production and media
works as she has been inspired heavily by the media team from churches she grew up
in.
In her free time, she likes to write any genre of music, hoping to start producing soon.
She likes to learn from other artists, her biggest inspirations being Tyler the Creator and
Kanye West. Taking breaks from fast technology: she spends a lot of time outdoors,
weirdly learning about quantum physics, shooting film photography and road tripping.
After graduation, she plans to backpack and do volunteer work across seas. All while
working on the side to build herself into a better artist. Eventually, pursuing a job in
being a creative director or video production

The Rollin' on the Riverfront fall event has been cancelled due to weather, but downtown Monroe is gearing up for a full slate of holiday festivities in December. Including the annual tree lighting, parade, and Holidays on the Marketplace.

The Living Well Foundation, founded in 2006, invests in medical, dental, and behavioral health initiatives across Ouachita Parish and seven surrounding parishes. With over $10 million reinvested locally, the foundation supports programs like school-based health centers, suicide prevention, dental hygiene clinics, and dementia care. Its annual luncheon on October 23 will highlight 2024 grant projects and introduce the 2025 funding cycle.
