Doug Duffey and BADD so good at Ouachita River Blues Challenge, Advance to International Stage

Doug Duffey and BADD took top honors at the 2025 Ouachita River Blues Challenge, earning the opportunity to represent the region at the prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

A veteran musician with deep Louisiana roots, Doug Duffey is no stranger to recognition. He was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2009. Over the years, Duffey has earned multiple accolades, including three NELA Music Awards in 2015 for Best Blues, Best Male Vocalist, and Entertainer of the Year. The following year, his project Louisiana Soul Revival featuring Doug Duffey won Best in Blues. His 2020 album Play The Blues by Doug Duffey and BADD even reached #1 on the charts.

Duffey’s career spans decades and genres, with songwriting and recording credits alongside legendary artists such as Marcia Ball, George Clinton, Funkadelic, Bernie Worrell, Eddie Hazel, Rare Earth, Nicky Hopkins, Beverly Jo Scott, Zakiya Hooker, Jerry Beach, and Anders Osborne. His work also includes collaborations with icons like Keith Richards, Kathi McDonald, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, David Byrne, Bootsy Collins, Steve Jordan, and Herbie Hancock; earning him his status as a P-Funk alumnus.
