The "Give the Joy of Learning" fundraiser for KEDM also puts books in the hands of 2nd graders in northeast Louisiana. Each $20 gift to KEDM provides one book to a student in one of 20 schools selected by the United Way as having the most potential to increase reading scores.
Suffragists didn't just march. They baked, held bake sales and sold cookbooks to raise money for the cause of equality.
