ULM Hosts Women's Symposium For Leadership Training

The 2018 Women's Symposium at the University of Louisiana Monroe will be held on March 28, 2018 at 12 p.m.  A networking social begins at 5:30 p.m. for graduating students and potential employers.

Symposium committee member and Instructor for the School of Humanities Vanelis Rivera said, "We are seeking to empower, motivate, and encourage girls and women from all backgrounds and all educational and professional levels to pursue their passions and seek leadership roles in their desired career paths."

ULM Celebrates 10th Annual Festival of World Languages

The University of Louisiana Monroe hosted its 10th annual Festival of World Languages on Saturday, March 3, 2018. The festival aims to spread awareness about the applications of foreign language studies in the modern business world.

Director of the School of Humanities Dr. Ruth Smith believes that many students underestimate the usefulness of studying a foreign language. "As with all of the Humanities, the question is always, 'Well, what are you going to do with that?' And the answer is 'You're going to do everything with that,'" Smith said.

ULM Alumni Shrimp Boil

  The ULM alumni area of “the Grove” will be filled with the aroma of Cajun spices Saturday, September 12, as the Ouachita Parish Chapter of the ULM Alumni Association hosts its Annual Shrimp Boil. Along with shrimp, the menu includes potatoes, corn, and adult beverages.
