The Origins Flute Quartet will present a program on Monday, October 27 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe Biedenharn Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
The quartet is comprised of Sandra Lunte, Professor of Flute at ULM since 1995, and three of her beloved former students. The flutists are Sarah Owens (BA 2022), John Rea (BM 2011), and Mallory Sanchez (BM 2012).
The Origins Flute Quartet will perform contrasting works, all written in the 21st century. These works require the flutists to play traditional “C” flutes as well as piccolo, alto flutes, and bass flutes.
All members of the quartet enjoy a long personal history with each other and hope to convey their connection through their music.

The Let Us Dream (LUD) Community Conference will be held at Bayou Point on October 30 from 8am-12pm. The conference theme is Building Sustainable Communities Through Collaborative Approaches to Food Security and Nutrition. Dr. Carrie Castille will serve as our keynote speaker!
LUD's mission is to promote community intervention, research, and learning. We will listen to community members and engage compassionate individuals in community empowerment. We hope to promote volunteerism by developing partnerships and opportunities for collaboration, both locally and globally. The conference is free of cost.

Ki Allen Riding School of Delhi is hosting Ron McLoughlin’s 1,000th clinic in Dubach, Louisiana. Ron is from Pearce, Arizona. He brings out the art of the horse industry with alternatives for training the horse for suppleness and obedience, and the riderfor humane horse handling skills. Ron presents a clinic structured to teach individualtechniques and maneuvers; and then he forges these into an integrated continuing education program as the foundation for advanced work.
RON MCLOUGHLIN, celebrating 1,000 Clinics, is the head instructor of the Classical Stock Seat School of Arizona, Foreman Certified Instructor, and has been teaching riding instruction and training since1972. Ron will be on site for a free lecture, videos and a 'Q & A' session.
