The English Program is delighted to offer a two-week creative writing workshop led by Assistant Professor Vanelis Rivera. Designed for local students in grades 8th through 12th, this workshop will run from June 16- 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Applications are available by emailing Dr. Will Rogers at wlrogers@ulm.edu or Professor Rivera at rivera@ulm.edu.
Completed applications should be sent to Dr. Rogers or Professor Rivera (rivera@ulm.edu) or Dr. Rogers. Space is limited to 15 participants.
The cost for participation is $250, payable to The English Program, which covers drinks and snacks daily and a luncheon on the final day of the workshop.

A Food & Fun Learning Lab designed for adult audiences
LSU AgCenter Nutrition and Community Health Agents at the LSU AgCenter Ouachita Extension Office (704 Cypress Street in West Monroe) host free cooking demonstrations, tastings, and hands-on skills.
Labs will be offered on June 25 and 26, 2025 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Participants can register for one or both days by going to the link below or calling 318-323-2251.

Ouachita Parish Public Library - West Ouachita Branch is having a book sale on the last Friday and Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those attending can shop for books (paperback and hardback), CD's, and DVD's.

The annual Faith Walk 2025 event is to bring out community members to a 3K/5K walk, run, or dog walk helping to raise funds for Elisha Ministries, Inc. a 501(c)3 non profit agency. The funds go to assist those in our community who need assistance in various areas including housing, healthcare, transport, mental health, plus so much more. Support us today by getting out and walking to support services to our neighbors, strengthening our communities.
