Senate candidates visited the University of Louisiana Monroe on Thursday night for the first of three KEDM political forums.  Jim Fannin, Jay Morris, and Matt Parker spoke with forum moderator Cory Crowe.

The forums are an opportunity for residents, business and community leaders to learn more about the candidates. Forums are broadcast live on 90.3 KEDM Public Radio, KEDM.org and Facebook Live; and archived at KEDM.org. 

 
The Louisiana House Candidate Forum will be on Thursday, September 12 at 6 p.m. at the ULM Library 7th floor Conference Center. A municipal forum covering local races will be held Tuesday, September 17 at 6 p.m. at the West Monroe Convention Center.
 
The event series is sponsored by 90.3 KEDM Public Radio, Monroe Chamber of Commerce, West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce,and the ULM Student Government Association. 
 
The election is Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019. The deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is September 11, or online September 21, 2019. Early voting takes place on  September 28, 30, and October 1-5, 2019.  

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
