Last Saturday, October 19, the Ouachita Herb Society hosted its annual Autumn Herb Faire.
Founded in 1994, herb-growing enthusiasts across Ouachita Parish have gathered with the goal of encouraging members to grow and use herbs for both culinary and medicinal purposes.
The faire was held at Junkin Sistas, located at 736 Ray Road in Calhoun, Louisiana. It included vendors, food, local art, live music, and educational sessions.
Proceeds from the faire go back to the Herb Society for funding community projects as well as educational sessions, with hopes of inspiring the next generation of herb producers in Ouachita Parish.
