The Creative Placemaking Committee is seeking to bridge communities on both sides of the Ouachita River.

Committee Chairwoman Kelsea McCrary says the point of Placemaking is to connect all individuals working hard and provide the main benefit of getting everyone together.  She says it’s a process to “ally the Alleys” of each city. Art Alley in Monroe and Antique Alley in West Monroe.

In the past couple years, the committee has worked to develop a plan to use as a tool in securing grant funds.  They received a grant to help provide funding in the community.

The committee selected two downtown projects to fund.
