Organizers of the Essence Festival of Culture have revealed that legendary soul group Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will be recognized during this summer’s gathering with “a star-studded tribute” that will “honor their final performance.”

LSU women's basketball great Seimone Augustus is returning to the school as an assistant coach. Augustus in 2023 became the first LSU female athlete to have a statue built in her honor and she will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in October.
