Senate candidates visited the University of Louisiana Monroe on Thursday night for the first of three KEDM political forums.  Jim Fannin, Jay Morris, and Matt Parker spoke with forum moderator Cory Crowe.

The forums are an opportunity for residents, business and community leaders to learn more about the candidates. Forums are broadcast live on 90.3 KEDM Public Radio, KEDM.org and Facebook Live; and archived at KEDM.org. 

Entertainer Mable John returns to the area for a celebration of her talent. The community of Bastrop will celebrate John's 88th birthday at a celebration at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Evans Business Plaza, 710 South Washington Street. Admission is free, and the community is invited to attend.

        At 6:30 p.m., the historic Rose Theatre in Bastrop will host a screening of the Academy and Grammy Award-winning 2013 film 20 Feet from Stardom. The documentary film features John and other performers who served as backup singers to famous artists.

The event will be held Tuesday, November 14 at Enoch's Irish Pub in Monroe. Policy and a Pint will begin at 5:30 pm with a meet and greet for our listeners. The radio discussion begins at 6 p.m.
