The kind of fraudulent activity they see most of the time is phishing. Phishing is a term that is used to describe emails, text messages, and phone calls to get information from the victim. They also see counterfeit checks.

On what to do if someone you know was victimized

They can contact their financial institution to change their credit info. They can try to stop it from getting worse or from happening.
