NOVA Workforce Institute executive Paul West talks community impact

Paul West, executive director of NOVA discusses the organization and the impact it has on the region.

NOVA (New Opportunities Vision and Achievement) Workforce Institute of Northeast Louisiana is set to graduate 75 participants on Thursday, June 13, 2024. NOVA graduates completed training through the career readiness/ essential Skills Program preparing them for high-demand jobs in the Northeast Louisiana Region.

NOVA also offers its graduates job placement assistance "Because we strive to find our graduates living-wage jobs, they will improve not only themselves, but their community as well'' , says executive director Paul West.

In the last 16 years NOVA has served over 2400 individuals and has projected $32 million in annual wages of individuals placed in the workforce.

NOVA connects the workforce needs of employers with training entitles with residents of Northeast Louisiana to create long-term, value for employers, participants and the community.

A native of West Monroe, Lexi is a junior at the University of Louisiana Monroe where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in communications.
Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
