The University of Louisiana Monroe Gerontology Program is hosting its second Conference on Disability Advocacy on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The conference will be held on the seventh floor of the library on campus and is free to the public.

The Conference on Disability Advocacy is meant to help empower people with disabilities and to further encourage a disability-friendly community. October is commemorated as the National Disability Employment Month and this year's theme is "The Right Talent, Right Now."

There will be a panel to discuss inclusion in the workforce and to emphasize the role people with disabilities play in the everyday success of businesses.

Registration is required. Email asharma@ulm.edu or call 985-320-1002 and leave a message to register.
