UPDATE: Victim Identified In Lake D'Arbonne Plane Crash

UPDATE: 

A plane crash in Union Parish has claimed the life of a 73-year-old man from Monroe. Sheriff Dusty Gates says David Lockard’s small, private plane crashed into Lake D’Arbonne Sunday afternoon. The Federal Aviation Administration is one site, trying to determine a cause for the crash.

A small private plane has crashed into Lake D'Arbonne  near Farmerville, La. The incident occurred at 5:30 on Sunday afternoon.  The aircraft sank into the water killing the pilot in the submerged wreckage.

Witnesses said they heard the sound of the plane impacting the lake. 

The name of the pilot has not been released. 

A crew from the FAA will be conducting an investigation on Monday.
