The Poor Man's Run returns for its 9th year. On Saturday, February 28th, at 8:00 AM, the St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy will host a 5K and a 1-Mile Fun Run. The event will be held at the ULM College of Pharmacy, 1800 Bienville Dr, Monroe, LA 71201.
The Poor Man's Run aims to raise funds for patients who cannot afford their medications. The pharmacy has filled over 280,000 prescriptions for nearly 8,000 patients in Louisiana, and its support even extends to surrounding states during natural disasters. St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy ensures that no one has to choose between their health and their livelihood.
The Ouachita Valley Road Runners will be responsible for timing the race. Refreshments will be served throughout the course, and bowls of jambalaya will be available for purchase. If runner packets are required, they may be obtained from the ULM College of Pharmacy between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Friday, February 27th, or between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM on February 28th. Following the conclusion of The Poor Man's Run, the awards ceremony will commence. In conjunction with the Poor Man’s Run, St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy’s first-ever car show will take place. The schedule for the events is as follows.
Saturday February 28th

- 9:00 AM - Car Show
- 10:00 AM - Awards Ceremony
- 1:00 PM - Car Show Judging
- 2:00 PM - Car Show Awards
The 1-Mile Fun-Run will cost $30, and the 5K will cost $35. Registration for both ends February 27, 2026, at 11:59 PM CST. Sign up before February 13th, 2025, and a t-shirt will be included. Registration for the car show begins at 8:00 AM on February 28th. Early Bird Registration Fee: $30. Day of Registration Fee: $40. Spectator Fee: $5. Bowls of jambalaya will cost $5. Pharmacy Council is now collecting pre-sale orders for bowls of Jambalaya, which can be picked up on February 28th at 10:00 am at the ULM College of Pharmacy. All proceeds go directly to the Monroe St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy. Links are below.
