Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has been working hard to get more Louisiana residents vaccinated. Today at 9:00 a.m. he will visit the Monroe vaccination center at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

Recently Governor Edwards expanded the state's 'Shot for $100' program. The programs started as a way to get college students to get their jab by offering a $100 gift card. The programs has been opened to the general public. 2,800 gift cards remain at ULM and are being offered at the ULM vaccination center in the Student Union Building on campus.

Gov. John Bel Edwards is requesting a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Louisiana as the number of cases of COVID-19 grows and the state’s efforts to combat the spread of illness intensifies. The declaration would allow the federal government to provide additional support for state and local agencies in dealing with this growing public health threat.
