Senate candidates visited the University of Louisiana Monroe on Thursday night for the first of three KEDM political forums.  Jim Fannin, Jay Morris, and Matt Parker spoke with forum moderator Cory Crowe.

The forums are an opportunity for residents, business and community leaders to learn more about the candidates. Forums are broadcast live on 90.3 KEDM Public Radio, KEDM.org and Facebook Live; and archived at KEDM.org. 

Ouachita Parish residents will had a chance to meet local candidates at the 90.3 KEDM Public Radio Candidate Forums. KEDM, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Government Association is hosting three Candidate Forums in September. 

The Louisiana Senate Candidate Forum will take place Thursday, September 5 at 6 p.m. for Senate Districts 32, 33, and 35 at “The Terrace” 7th Floor Conference Center at the University of Louisiana at Monroe Library.

KEDM and the Strelington Chamber of Commerce teamed up to present a candidate forum. The event featured the candidates for Aldermen, Police Chief, and Mayor. A large crowd gathered at the Sterlington Middle School to learn more about the vision, leadership qualities, and issues facing the town.

KEDM met with the candidates for Ouachita Parish and Monroe City School Boards. The public forum was held at the Monroe Civic Center on October 9.  

It was hosted by the Monroe and West Monroe - West Ouachita Chambers of Commerce and KEDM Public Radio. It was moderated by KEDM News Director Cory Crowe and ULM Political Science Professor Dr. Joshua Stockley.

The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce / KEDM Public Radio "Meet The Candidates" forum was held Thursday night at the West Monroe High School Edgewood Facility. The event was attended by all four candidates for mayor and 6 aldermen hopefuls. 

The election will be held on March 24.

KEDM will host Policy and a Pint on February 7 at Does Eat Place in Monroe.  The topic of our open public forum is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The event will look at ways to reduce waste going into our environment and landfill. 

Our panel will include Stuart Hodnet of Ouachita Green, Josh Tolleson of Goodwill Industries, and Alan Brockman of Sunquest Properties.  They will answer questions from the public about environmental issues and proposals and projects that will keep our area beautiful  and our landfill clean.
