COVID-19 vaccines will be sent to 298 providers in all 64 of Louisiana’s parishes this week, the Louisiana Department of Health announced.
That includes 262 pharmacies, up from 209 pharmacies the week before.
Gov. John Bel Edwards and State Health Director Dr. Joseph Kanter have said that some pharmacies that received previous shipments of vaccine would not receive future doses, depending on how many are included in Louisiana’s weekly allotments, administered by the federal government. Some of the pharmacies that received vaccines last week were not included in this week’s list.
Other facilities receiving vaccines are 19 federally qualified health centers, three rural health clinics and 14 additional healthcare sites.
The health department continues to focus on Phase 1B, Tier 1:
- People age 70 and older
- All health clinic providers and staff, including dental and behavioral health
- Dialysis providers and patients
- Home health providers and patients
- Ambulatory care providers and staff
- Faculty, staff, students and residents of allied health schools
