When Americans Used To Save Money, And Why That Changed

During the Reagan administration, the poorest 90 percent of American households saved 10 percent of their income. In 2006, the savings rate was closer to negative 10 percent. It’s a topic that The Atlantic’s Derek Thompson is writing about. Here & Now’s Peter O’Dowd talks with Thompson about what’s causing the decline in savings.
