The shooting death of Will Smith, a former New Orleans Saints defensive end, occurred Saturday in the city’s affluent Lower Garden District, ending a violent week for the city.
In the past few weeks, at least four rapes were reported and multiple people were shot in separate incidents, including a couple murdered as they lay in bed with their infant daughter.
