In today's session, a conversation with Poliça's Channy Leanagh reveals the meaning behind the band's latest album, United Crushers, which is out Friday. On one level, it's about a local Minneapolis tagging crew with the same name, but on another, it's about all the things that keep people down.
This third album was produced by Leanagh and Ryan Olson, who recently had a son together. Olson creates the backing tracks, while Leanagh is the lead singer and principal songwriter. Hear them perform three of the new songs live in the audio segment above.
