Businessman Jack Clampit is a candidate for Ouachita Parish Police Jury District B.
Clampit is focused on bringing more awareness to water issues as a priority in the campaign. "We have some good systems, we have some bad systems. I want to get everyone to the table to talk about how we can get something done," he said.
Clampit also wants to see work performed on Caples Road and Charlie Rawls Road. He say both roadways present serious problems for trucks that travel the area. A bridge along Charlie Rawls Road is showing signs of deterioration. Clampit says problems there are paramount because a school bus regularly travels the road.
The southwest Ouachita resident feels the police jury needs to wait and see the results of a review as to whether or not the district should pursue a new library. He says there are already several other libraries in the parish that are in need of updating and renovations.
