A federal jury found Anfernee Rone, of West Monroe, guilty of distributing a Controlled Substance after a two-day trial before a United States District Judge. At sentencing, set for January 19, 2027, before Judge Joseph, Rone faces a minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in federal prison.

Evidence presented at trial involved a controlled narcotics sale in West Monroe. Rone, who had been under investigation, sold approximately one-half of a kilogram of methamphetamine to a confidential informant.

On September 11, 2025, the informant arranged and completed the purchase from Rone at a West Monroe-area store while law enforcement officers surveilled the deal and Rone’s residence.

During that surveillance, law enforcement saw Rone leave his residence carrying a plastic bag containing a large object before traveling to the meeting location. Rone then sold the methamphetamine to the informant, who was wearing surveillance equipment.
