On Friday, October 9th, United States District Judge Jerry Edwards, Jr., sentenced Shreveport resident Timothy Wayne Griffin to 130 months in federal prison, followed by four years of supervised release for Distributing a Controlled Substance and Possessing a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime. Griffin previously pled guilty to the charge on June 9, 2026.

According to court documents, on December 17, 2025, Griffin agreed to sell approximately 57 grams of crack cocaine and a firearm to a confidential informant. Griffin was observed leaving his home in Shreveport and traveling to a local liquor store where he met with the informant. He approached the informant’s vehicle carrying the narcotics and a 9mm SCCY CPX-2 handgun, which he exchanged with the informant for $1,850.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Samuel S. Crichton with assistance from Paralegal Specialist Emily Favrot.
