On October 12, 2026, deputies with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, along with investigators from the Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene Divisions, responded to Blazier Street in West Monroe following a report of a deceased individual.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, identified as a juvenile, who had been reported missing from the Monroe area earlier in the day.
Through investigative efforts, OPSO investigators identified 23-year-old Joshua Swan as a suspect. Swan was located and taken into custody. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Monroe Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Swan was arrested and charged with alleged Second-Degree Murder.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details will be released at this time.
