France 24 English now streaming on LPB platforms

France 24 English, an international news channel and part of France’s public service media, is now streaming free of charge on Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) digital platforms.

The new service is available through a national partnership between PBS and France 24, giving participating PBS member stations the opportunity to bring the international news channel to their viewers.

France 24 English provides international news coverage and analysis from a French perspective, drawing on a network of 200 correspondents covering nearly every country around the world. The programming is presented in English and streams 24 hours a day, seven days a week, commercial-free.

“With Louisiana’s strong connections to France and our shared cultural heritage, LPB is pleased to expand our programming options with the addition of France 24 English,” said Jason Viso, LPB Director of Programming.

“This new service gives Louisiana viewers another perspective on international news and complements our ongoing commitment to French-language and French-related programming.”

LPB’s French-language and cultural offerings include nine hours of French programming for children on the LPB PBS KIDS 24/7 channel, the series La Veillée, the returning classic French cinema program Cinéma Français, the digital series Paroles de la Louisiane, and the Creole-language series Kouri Vini.

France 24 English joins Create, NHK World Japan, PBS KIDS, and the main LPB channel as part of the network’s growing lineup of free streaming services available on LPB.org, the LPB app, and the PBS app.
