LDCC produced nearly four out of every 10 AS-T graduates in Louisiana for the second consecutive year 

LDCC graduates represented 38.7% of the 75 AS-T graduates reported statewide. The next-highest institution produced 16 graduates.

This achievement continues the College’s strong growth in preparing future educators. During the 2024–25 academic year, LDCC produced 25 of Louisiana’s 65 AS-T graduates, representing 38.5% of the statewide total. LDCC’s number of graduates increased by 16% this year.

Over the past two academic years, Louisiana Delta has produced 54 AS-T graduates. For the second consecutive year, nearly four out of every 10 AS-T graduates in Louisiana have come from LDCC.

“These results demonstrate the strength of our efforts to expand the teacher pipeline through the Associate of Science in Teaching and Teacher Apprenticeship pathways,” said Director of the Associate of Science in Teaching Ashley Ellis. “More importantly, these graduates are continuing into bachelor’s degree programs and preparing to serve in classrooms throughout our region. We are proud of what they have accomplished and grateful for the institutional support that has allowed this work to grow.”

The AS-T pathway provides students with an affordable and accessible foundation for completing a bachelor’s degree in education and becoming a certified teacher.

Together with LDCC’s Teacher Apprenticeship pathway, the program supports efforts to address teacher shortages while creating career opportunities for students across Northeast Louisiana.
