The Louisiana Department of the Treasury will soon offer ACH payment services, giving eligible claimants a faster, more convenient way to receive approved unclaimed property funds electronically.
Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming, M.D., said the new services will “help make the payment process easier, quicker, and more secure from start to finish. There will be no more worrying about lost checks in the mail or having to anxiously wait at your mailbox every day.”
Beginning next week, eligible claimants can choose direct deposit when available. Here are the steps to set up ACH payment:
1. Search Your Name and see if you have funds available
2. Submit your claim. Be sure to enter your email address carefully (this will be needed to receive your funds by ACH)
3. Submit any required verification or claim documentation
4. Watch for an email offering the ACH option and follow the link to accept the payment electronically
5. Enter your banking information through the secure JPMorgan Chase portal
6. Wait for the approved payment to be deposited directly into your account
The payments will be sent in partnership with JPMorgan Chase. You will receive an email from donotreply@jpmorgan.com stating that you have received a payment from the Louisiana Department of the Treasury, and it will include the Louisiana Cash Claim logo.
Choosing ACH payment is completely voluntary. If you do not wish to receive your payment by ACH, you may simply ignore the email. Claimants who do not select ACH will automatically receive a paper check.
