The race for the U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana is heating up, new campaign finance reports shine light on the fundraising of Republican Julia Letlow and Democrat Jamie Davis.
Julia Letlow has outpaced her opponent, raising approximately $6.2 million since the launch of her campaign. Over 75% of her donations have come from the GOP and political action committees.
Jamie Davis has raised nearly $2 million, with all contributions coming from individuals. His campaign has not received any funding from PACs.
Since winning the runoff last month to become the Democrat nominee, Davis's campaign has reported raising $1.6 million. Currently his individual donations are outpacing Letlow's $1.4 million from individual contributors.
As of now, Letlow holds a substantial advantage in cash on hand, with over $1.4 million compared to Davis's $480,000.
