Richland Parish teachers embrace AI and technology for student success

Richland Parish, LA – Teachers in Richland Parish are already seeing the benefits of the Meta data center at Holly Ridge.

Sarah Morris, a teacher at Holly Ridge Elementary School, says the technology being is already implemented in the classroom. "We're using AI software right now that is helping with literacy rates. We're seeing a lot of gains with that. The kids love it."

Morris says students in grades six through eight are learning to code, a skill that many adults may not have had the opportunity to acquire at a young age. "We're also starting to use the AI and all the technology from K through five in the coming years, and they're excited to learn about it," she added.

Morris is optimistic about the future. She believes that the Meta datacenter will help prepare Richland Parish students for successful careers in an increasingly digital world.

Richland Parish teachers are receiving annual bonuses of up to $50,900 this year — more than a full year’s salary for many — thanks to a surge in local tax revenues from Meta’s massive $27 billion Hyperion data center.
