WEST MONROE, La. — The West Monroe West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce will host an informational session on Tuesday, June 9, at 3:00 p.m. at the City of West Monroe City Hall Council Room to help lenders, business leaders, and economic development partners learn more about new tools designed to expand access to capital for growing small businesses.
The session will feature information on Louisiana Innovation, a new division of Louisiana Economic Development, and its Louisiana Opportunity Capital program. The program is designed to work with lenders to confidently finance small businesses that are poised for growth but may fall just outside traditional underwriting criteria.
Through state-backed credit support and cash collateral solutions, Louisiana Opportunity Capital helps address collateral gaps, reduce lending risk, and strengthen a small business’s borrowing power. These tools can support a wide range of business needs, from helping a subcontractor secure financing for a regional construction project to assisting a new business with working capital to launch or expand.
“Access to capital remains one of the most important factors in helping small businesses grow, compete, and create jobs,” said Kristopher Kelley, Executive Director of the West Monroe West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce. “This session is an opportunity for our lending and business community to learn about practical tools that can reduce barriers, support responsible lending, and help more businesses move forward.”
The Chamber encourages local lenders, financial institutions, business service providers, economic development partners, and small business stakeholders to attend and learn how these resources can help strengthen the regional business climate.
