Music at the Mansion is performed by talented musicians of the LSU School of Music Cello Studio at The Old Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, April 22nd at 5:30 p.m.
The evening’s program will highlight Heitor Villa-Lobos’ “Bachianas Brasileiras” Nos. 1 and 5, featuring a special guest performance by soprano Emma Littleton for the vocal solo in No. 5. The studio will also perform Niloufar Irvani’s “Constellation C,” alongside works by Richard Wagner, David Popper, Julius Klengel, and Arvo Pärt.
Admission is free, and a reception will immediately follow the performance.
The Old Governor’s Mansion brings the stories of Louisiana and its people to life through exhibitions and educational programming.
Admission to the museum is free, and the museum is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month.
