Celebrating the renovation of St. Joseph's Community House

The Town of St. Joseph hosted a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the renovation of St. Joseph's Community House.

The newly upgraded facility will serve the community with expanded access to high-speed workspaces and programs in data, language, and driver's training. These renovated spaces will also support GED and HiSET educational services and extracurricular programming developed in partnership with local schools.

Louisiana state leaders emphasized that investments like these are critical to the long-term growth of rural communities, as technology-enabled, multipurpose facilities expand opportunities for workforce development, education, and health monitoring.

"These broadband expansions demonstrate the impact of strategic investment in critical infrastructure. We are turning historic federal investment into real infrastructure that is making an impact on communities across Louisiana. I’m grateful to President Trump and our Louisiana congressional delegation for helping make this progress possible," said Governor Jeff Landry.

Mayor of St. Joseph, Carl Olds Jr., said, "This renovation brings new opportunities for learning, connection, and growth to our rural residents. It reflects our shared commitment to investing in the people and places that make our community strong."

St. Joseph Community House will be open to the public and available for free or low-cost nonprofit and community events. This project is made possible through federal funding provided by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Capital Projects Fund (CPF), administered through ConnectLA and the GUMBO 1.0 program.
