BATON ROUGE, La. – Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) is partnering with The Coca-Cola Company and Osprey Initiative to expand recycling efforts during Love the Boot Week, scheduled for April 18–26, 2026.

The collaboration will support the collection and recycling of plastic bottles and aluminum cans at cleanup events in 19 parishes. Osprey Initiative will provide recycling bags, coordinate logistics and transport collected materials to recycling facilities, helping ensure items gathered during cleanups are diverted from landfills and repurposed.

Love the Boot Week, Louisiana’s largest litter removal and community beautification effort, is held each year during Earth Month and encourages residents in all 64 parishes to organize or volunteer at local events. In recognition of America’s 250th birthday, organizers are challenging participants to pick up 250 pieces of litter as a show of community pride.

During the 2025 event, nearly 27,000 volunteers took part in more than 1,400 cleanups statewide, removing 514 tons of litter. More than 16,000 plastic bottles and aluminum cans were recycled, and volunteers also planted trees and revitalized community spaces. With expanded recycling access this year, organizers anticipate an even greater environmental impact in 2026.
