The U.S. Postal Service will issue Lowriders, a set of new commemorative postal stamps, on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Lowriders, known for being low and slow, are customized automobiles that appear to glide over the road. They can also be seen to suddenly levitate and bounce up and down. These stamps will celebrate the lowrider culture that is rooted in 1940s working-class Mexican American/ Chicano communities throughout the American Southwest.
The five car models converted to stamps will be a 1958 Chevrolet Impala named "Eight Figures", a 1964 Chevrolet Impala named "The Golden Rose", a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme named " Pocket Change", a 1946 Chevrolet Fleetline named "Let the Good Times Roll/ Soy Como Soy", and a 1963 Chevrolet Impala named "El Ray".
The Lowriders stamps will be issued in panes of 15. As Forever stamps, they will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
The first-day-of-issue outdoor event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Logan Heights Library in San Diego, California, with Gary Barksdale, chief postal inspector, as the dedicating official.
