Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and the Office of Cultural Development Divisions of Archaeology and Historic Preservation announce sub-grant awards exceeding $457,000.
The Historic preservation Fund grants will support 11 projects in communities around Louisiana plus scholarships and training programs. Sub grants support Survey and planning projects, Certified Local Government Community projects, and Louisiana’s Comprehensive Archaeology Plan.
“One of Louisiana’s greatest treasures is the history and heritage that shape who we are today. These preservation projects ensure that the stories, places, and traditions that define Louisiana are protected for future generations,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “Our history and culture are not only a source of pride for the people who live here, they are also one of the main reasons visitors from around the world choose Louisiana. By investing in preservation, we honor our past, strengthen our communities, and keep our culture thriving for years to come.”
