IRS Criminal Investigation hosting virtual job information session Aug. 27

ATLANTA – IRS Criminal Investigation (CI) will be hosting a virtual job information session on Eventbrite Aug. 27, to discuss nationwide entry and mid-career level special agent job duties, requirements to qualify, how to write an effective resume, and how to apply.

Special agents investigate potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law.

The job information session is open to everyone. Women are especially encouraged to participate. Last year, CI leadership signed the national 30x30 initiative pledging to increase the recruitment, retention, and promotion of women in law enforcement. The goal of 30x30 is to ensure that policing agency policies and culture support the success of diverse officers and improve the representation of women in police recruit classes to thirty percent by 2030.

“Presently, women make up only 12% of sworn officers and 3 percent of the police leadership,” said Demetrius Hardeman, Atlanta Field Office, Special Agent In Charge. “We want to encourage more women to become law enforcement officers because representation matters. IRS Criminal Investigation is one of more than 300 other law agencies who have joined the 30x30 initiative.”

The virtual job information session is scheduled for Aug. 27, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Information on the sessions and registrations can be found at https://www.jobs.irs.gov/events under Virtual Information Sessions.
