Former Catahoula Parish Sheriff Joe Tom Trunzler, who served from 1992 to 1996, died at the age of 77. Before his time as sheriff, he worked as a Louisiana State Police Trooper for 24 years. He also served as a Deputy U.S. Marshal for many years after leaving the sheriff's office.
His wake will be held on Friday, July 7 at 5 p.m. at Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville, LA, and his funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8 at 10 a.m. at Saint Gerard's Catholic Church in Jonesville.
