2022 Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off opening reception and main event next week

The 15th Annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off is set to kick off next week in Lafayette, LA, to crown the 2022 King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood. Prior to the main event, the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board will host an opening reception for the 12 chefs selected to compete for the crown and VIPs on Monday, June 6, at Vestal Restaurant in downtown Lafayette. During the reception, the chefs will draw spots for the cooking order. The opening reception starts at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, June 7, the competition heats up inside the Cajundome Convention Center as 12 of the best chefs in Louisiana battle for the title King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood. Each chef will have one hour to prepare a dish featuring Louisiana seafood and presented to the judges. The winner of the 2022 Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off will represent the state in the Great American Seafood Cook-Off in New Orleans on Saturday, August 6. Additionally, the new King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood will represent Louisiana at promotional events in state and around the country. Held in conjunction with A Taste of Eat Lafayette, chefs start cooking at 5:30 p.m. as the doors open for the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off and A Taste of Eat Lafayette.

The opening reception for the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off is being held at the Vestal Restaurant located at 555 Jefferson Street, Lafayette, Louisiana. The reception begins at 6 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. on Monday, June 6.

The 2022 Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off will take place at the Cajundome Convention Center located at 444 Cajundome Blvd., Lafayette, Louisiana. Cooking will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7. The winner of the cook-off will be announced around 8:30 p.m. the same night.
