Monroe State Rep. Honored By International Pro-Life Organization

State Sen. Katrina Jackson (D-Monroe) awarded the Life Award at the annual Awards Gala of Live Action, a national prominent pro-life organization, in Dana Point, California. This gala recognizes individuals who are outspoken defenders of preborn children and their families within media, politics, entertainment, and activism.

“I am honored to be recognized by Live Action,” said Jackson, whose pro-life work in the Louisiana Legislature has had lasting impact. “I’m proud of the work we’ve done to end abortion in Louisiana, and I will continue to lead the fight in my home state and around the country to end this practice.”

Jackson served two terms in the House of Representatives before being elected to the State Senate in 2019. An attorney by profession, Jackson’s district includes parts of Ouachita, Morehouse, Richland, Tensas, Madison, East Carroll, and Concordia Parishes. She is a lifelong resident of Monroe.

Prior to serving in the Legislature, Jackson was staff attorney for the House Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations. While in the House, she served as Chair of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus.

Other honorees at the Live Action Gala were journalist David Daleiden and actor Eduardo Verastegui. For more information about the organization visit www.LiveAction.org.
