On June 21st. at 11:45 p.m., Ouachita Parish Sheriff's deputies attempted to make a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of Robinson Place Subdivision in South Monroe. The vehicle refused to stop leading deputies on a pursuit.
The vehicle finally stopped and the suspects fled on foot. As suspects exited the vehicle one of them pulled a firearm and fired at the Deputies. The Deputies returned fire and pursued the suspects on foot.
Neither of the Deputies was harmed and it is not believed the suspects were injured in the exchange; however they have not been located at this time.
