Ouachita Parish Mosquito Abatement District reports that a mosquito pool near Hidden Lakes Subdivision in West Monroe tested positive for West Nile Virus.

The mosquito pool was collected on Thursday, November 7.

The Ouachita Parish Mosquito Abatement District will not be able to conduct evening spraying for mosquitoes due to forecasted weather conditions.

They advise when working outdoors, everyone should take protective measures that include wearing long-sleeved shirts, long pants and the use of an EPA approved repellant.
