A Monroe Regional Airport runway has been closed. The main MLU runway has a washout along the edge which must be repaired.

Airlines providing service to the airport will use the secondary runway. The secondary runway is shorter, causing many flights to be cancelled or rescheduled.

Passengers have been diverted to Shreveport and Alexandria.

Airport officials have announced that they hope to have the washout repaired by Thursday.
