The Department of Health and Hospitals has released that there are two mosquito pools in Ouachita Parish that have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

These pools are located in Monroe near the intersection of I-20 and Orange Street, and in West Monroe near the intersection of Warren Drive and Cypress Street.

The locations will be treated by spray trucks on Monday, October 7.

The Ouachita Parish Mosquito Abatement District cautions that when working outdoors, everyone should take protective measures. These can include long clothing and EPA approved repellants.
