Multiple Arrests in West Monroe Prostitution Ring

Five arrests have been made in connection to alleged prostitution at two massage parlors in the West Monroe area.

The arrests were made Tuesday after a several month investigation. Search warrants for three locations were obtained. Employees at the China Massage and Spa on Blanchard Street and Shangri La Spa in the 1400 block of North Seventh were taken into custody.

According to the arrest report, Lijuan Yang, 37, was running day-to-day operations at the China Massage and Spa and was responsible for performing illegal massages as well as setting up illegal massages for other employees to conduct at the location. She is facing charges of promoting prostitution, prostitution by massage and criminal conspiracy.

Yuangiao Han, 44, the owner of Shangri-La Spa, was charged with pandering and promoting prostitution. Han required employees to live at the business where several illegal massages were performed. According to the arrest report, She also had employees rotating from Shangri-La Spa to another business in California. Haiyan Liu, 45, is accused of prostitution by massage and criminal conspiracy. She was allegedly scheduling appointments and conducting illegal massages at China Massage and Spa.

Huan Yuan Dong, the only male arrested, is accused of criminal conspiracy for illegally scheduling appointments at the Shangri La Spa. Lastly, Haiping Sun, 45, of Shreveport was arrested late Tuesday and charged with pandering and promoting prostitution.

The five suspects were booked into Ouachita Correctional Center early Tuesday evening.
