The Monroe City School Board has declined to renew the charter of Excellence Academy. Excellence lost the vote 4 to 1, and 1 member recused. The school was seeking a 5th year. The board followed a recommendation from an outside expert who evaluated the school. The executive director of Excellence Rosevelt Wright says the school will continue to fight in court.
