ZIKA VIRUS IN CADDO PARISH:  The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has confirmed a case ofZikavirus in a person living in Caddo Parish. In a report released Friday,  theDHH explained the case is one of three new cases in Louisiana that was travel-related. The current total ofZikacases in Louisiana is 26. Mosquitoes are the main method for transmission however the disease can be transmitted sexually.  People are urged to use prevention measures such as insect repellant, long-sleeved clothing and removal of standing water.  For more information:http://www.dhh.louisiana.gov/index.cfm/page/2478ZIKA CASE IN CADDO PARISH - La. Dept. of Health and Hospitals confirmed three new cases of Zika in Louisiana last Friday; one case is in Caddo Parish. All cases are believed to be travel-related. Dr. Anthony Fauci with the National Institutes of Health explains the higher risks for local transmission are among states with robust mosquito populations.
