TOURISM SUMMIT IN SHREVEPORT:  The Lt. Governor's Annual Louisiana Travel Promotions Association Summit returns to Shreveport, LA this week as an estimated 500+ professionals in the state's travel and hospitality industry will convene at the Shreveport Convention Center.   Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser will address a kick-off breakfast meeting Wednesday morning as he offers an update on the state of the tourism economy in Louisiana as well as how the recent weather catastrophe may impact tourism to those areas hit hardest by the flooding.  The LPTA is a trade organization leading and strengthening Louisiana's travel industry through education, and advocacy on behalf of its members.

LOUISIANA TOURISM SUMMIT: Shreveport, LA is host to this year's Louisiana Travel Promotions Association Summit at the Shreveport Convention Center. This event is the Lt. Governor's Summit on state tourism and is the largest educational opportunity for Louisiana tourism and hospitality professionals.

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' experience to Red River Radio having started out as a radio news reporter and moving into television journalism as a newsmagazine producer / host, talk-show moderator, programming director and managing producer and news director / anchor for commercial, public broadcasting and educational television. He has more recently worked in advertising, marketing and public relations as a writer, video producer and media consultant. In pursuit of higher learning, Chuck studied Mass Communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
