Coastal Authority Seeks Input On Local Flood Risk

If you’ve got ideas about how to reduce flooding in your area, the state’s coastal authority wants to hear it. Officials from theCoastal Protection and Restoration Authority(CPRA) are hosting four public meetings about flood risk inLafitte,Houma, Lake Charles andMandeville.

TheCPRAwants public input as it prepares for next year’s revision of the Master Plan for the coast. All four meetingswill offer a presentation of the 2017 Master Plan, and local residents will be able weigh in on what has or hasn’t worked in the past.

The CPRA is also looking for input on which flood-prone areas to target first.
